Family Dental Care wants every patient to be able to use this website and to reach us easily, including people who use screen readers, keyboard navigation, magnification or captions.
What we have done
This site was built to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA as a working target. Specifically:
- Every combination of text and background on the site has been measured for contrast and meets the AA threshold for its size and weight
- Pages use semantic headings in order, with one main heading per page, so screen readers can navigate structure
- All images carry descriptive alternative text
- The site works with the keyboard alone, and there is a skip-to-content link
- Frequently asked questions use native expandable elements that work without JavaScript
- Animation is reduced automatically for visitors whose device requests reduced motion
- The site is responsive and usable on phones, tablets and desktop
- Tap targets on mobile are sized for comfortable use
Where we know we fall short
Accessibility is ongoing rather than finished. Embedded third-party content, such as the map, is not fully under our control. If you meet a barrier anywhere on this site, we would like to know about it.

If any part of this website is difficult for you to use, you do not need to struggle with it. Call us at (913) 651-2115 and we will book your appointment, answer your question or read you any information on the site.
Please also tell us if you need an accommodation at the practice itself, such as extra time, a quieter appointment, help completing forms, or communication support, and we will do our best to arrange it in advance.
